KIKI Shopify Sync – Frequently Asked Questions
What does the KIKI + Shopify integration do?
Our Shopify integration allows you to sync your entire product catalog into KIKI—including product details, variants, media, options, and inventory. Once connected, KIKI will also send your order information back to Shopify, so you can fulfill orders using the Shopify system you're already familiar with.
This means: no more manual CSV uploads, duplicate data entry, or mismatched listings.
How does the initial sync work?
Once you connect your Shopify store, KIKI will automatically:
- Import all your products and variants using Shopify’s secure API
- Sync associated product images, titles, descriptions, and options
- Begin listening for real-time product updates via Shopify webhooks
We support product catalogs with up to 50,000 SKUs, and the sync is designed to complete in under 30 minutes for large catalogs.
Will my products stay up to date after the first import?
Yes! KIKI listens for changes in your Shopify store and updates your product data in real time:
- Add a new product in Shopify? It shows up in KIKI.
- Change a product’s inventory or description? It updates in KIKI too.
- Delete a product? It’s removed from KIKI automatically.
We use Shopify’s official webhooks for product and inventory updates, ensuring fast and accurate sync with minimal lag (target SLA: under 2 minutes).
What happens when I get an order on KIKI?
When a customer places an order through your brand on KIKI:
- KIKI automatically creates a corresponding order in Shopify
- The order includes all relevant line items, shipping info, and customer details
- You fulfill it through your existing Shopify workflow—just like any other order!
This keeps your fulfillment team in sync and avoids any need to train on new systems.
Does inventory sync both ways?
Yes, it does. When a product is sold on KIKI:
- KIKI immediately decrements inventory in Shopify
- When inventory changes in Shopify (e.g., restock), it updates in KIKI
This prevents overselling and ensures stock levels stay accurate across platforms—even under high order volume.
What happens if something goes wrong during sync?
We’ve built robust error handling:
- If Shopify returns an error, KIKI retries automatically with exponential backoff
- We log any failed updates so our team (or yours) can manually replay them if needed
- Our dashboard includes metrics and alerts to monitor sync health in real time
Is the integration secure?
Absolutely. We take data security seriously:
- All data transfers use Shopify’s secure APIs
- Every webhook is verified using HMAC signatures
- Secrets are stored securely and rotated quarterly
- OAuth tokens are encrypted and access is scoped to only the permissions we need
Can I test this before going live?
Yes! During the pilot or rollout, we work with select merchants to:
- Run an initial sync
- Test orders end-to-end
- Stress-test inventory handling at scale
- Get feedback before enabling for your full store
